Good idea Acer!
Seeing the replay it looked like carnage at turn 1 in the back of the pack. What can we do to minimize bad starts? Slash kinda clipped his own butt on an Alfa right at the start but still finished 3rd. Acer has been finishing in 3rd but lost his bumper and headlight before turn 1, so he ended up in 9th place. Quite a few people were affected by that mess. I almost got clipped hard by Dori124 in turn one, he just missed me and shot straight over the grass. My thinking is that we need to be less anxious to get in front of people that early in the race. The brakes are cold, the tires are cold, adrenaline is rushing, there is less space around you than probably any time during practice, etc. Go easy! The person that starts in the front is at a big advantage, but people starting behind should not drive like they have that same advantage. Post your thoughts and experiences so we can try to learn from this and make it better.
Speaking for myself I had a great race. It started with a good battle with Bretware, which lasted until he couldn't draft me anymore. It was really close several times. We went through the chicane side by side one time, and we made contact somewhere else, just bumping doors it looked like. I hope that won't be seen as aggression because I really couldn't see exactly where he was next to me and I still had to make the turn He was on the inside trying to outbrake me at the end of that bumpy back straight. Good stuff. Really enjoyed that.
The replay has been uploaded to the files area in case anyone doesn't have it all. No matter what happened, it was nice that many showed up and joined TeamSpeak as well. Thanks all!
